Database Administrator / SQL Performance Engineer

The Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Database Administrator / SQL Performance Engineer with 2 years of experience to take ownership of our database infrastructure. You will work closely with our backend and data engineering teams to monitor query execution, optimize database schemas, and ensure high availability and data security across our relational and analytical datastores.

Key Responsibilities:

- Query Optimization: Analyze, profile, and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database execution plans to reduce latency.

- Indexing & Schema Design: Design and maintain optimal indexing strategies and database schemas to support high-throughput supply chain analytics.

- Database Monitoring: Implement real-time monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking tools to catch bottlenecks before they impact production.

- Backup & Security: Manage database backups, disaster recovery protocols, user access controls, and data encryption standards.

- Engineering Collaboration: Partner with backend engineers and data teams to review database changes and ensure scalable schema design for new features.

What We Are Looking For:

- Experience: Around 2 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), SQL Developer, or Backend Engineer with a heavy focus on database tuning.

- Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience managing relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).

- Performance Tuning Skills: Proven track record of diagnosing slow-running queries, locking issues, and memory utilization bottlenecks.

- Cloud Database Competency: Familiarity with managed database services (AWS RDS, Aurora, or Google Cloud SQL).
