Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to join our technology team in Bangalore, tasked with overseeing the health, scalability, and security of our mission-critical data infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as the primary custodian of our database ecosystem, working closely with software engineering teams, DevOps engineers, and product stakeholders to ensure seamless data availability.

By architecting robust database solutions and optimizing complex query performance, you will directly influence the reliability of our platforms, ensuring that our end-users experience high-speed performance and zero downtime. This position is pivotal in driving our data strategy forward, balancing the demands of high-traffic production environments with the need for long-term architectural integrity.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable database architectures that support high-concurrency applications, ensuring the business can scale efficiently as user demand grows.

- Execute advanced performance tuning across SQL and NoSQL environments to reduce latency and improve resource utilization for our development teams.

- Manage end-to-end lifecycle operations for Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase clusters, ensuring high availability and robust disaster recovery protocols are always in place.

- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering squads to review schema designs and query patterns, preventing bottlenecks before they impact the customer experience.

- Automate routine database maintenance and monitoring tasks to minimize manual intervention and enhance the overall stability of the production environment.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, and Couchbase in large-scale, distributed production environments.

- Proven ability to perform deep-dive database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and memory management to resolve complex latency issues.

- Strong proficiency in database architecture design, with a focus on high availability, data replication, and sharding strategies for global applications.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical database constraints into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and product managers.

- A collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a hybrid office environment in Bangalore, and capable of mentoring junior team members on best practices in data management.

- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, combined with a track record of maintaining 99.99% uptime for enterprise-grade database systems.
