Role Overview :

As a PostgreSQL DBA, you will serve as the primary custodian of our database infrastructure, ensuring the high availability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.

You will work closely with software engineering teams and cloud architects to design robust database schemas and optimize query performance.

Your daily contributions will directly influence the reliability of our platforms, ensuring that our data architecture remains resilient and scalable as we support growing user demands and complex data workloads.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable database architectures that support high-concurrency applications and ensure long-term data integrity.

- Execute comprehensive backup and restore strategies to guarantee zero data loss and meet stringent recovery time objectives for business continuity.

- Manage seamless database upgrades and patch deployments to maintain system security and leverage the latest PostgreSQL features without disrupting production services.

- Perform proactive troubleshooting and performance tuning to resolve bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization across the database environment.

- Configure and maintain robust data replication setups to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness across multi-region cloud deployments.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical guidance on schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization to improve overall application performance.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in managing PostgreSQL databases in production environments, with a deep understanding of internal architecture and query execution plans.

- Proven ability to architect and manage database solutions within cloud environments, specifically AWS and GCP, including the use of managed database services.

- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex performance issues and implement effective remediation strategies under pressure.

- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical database requirements and constraints to stakeholders and development teams.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid office environment in Noida, demonstrating self-motivation and the capacity to manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously.

- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 5 - 9 years of hands-on experience in database administration.
