Database Administrator - MySQL/PostgreSQL

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.

- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.

- Experience with database replication, clustering, failover, and high-availability configurations.

- Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning.

- Experience with backup/recovery management and disaster recovery planning.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.

- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or equivalent.

- Knowledge of database security best practices, user access management, and compliance requirements.

- Experience supporting production-critical applications and 24x7 environments.

- Understanding of cloud database services such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure Database Services, or GCP Cloud SQL.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL databases across multiple environments.

- Monitor database health, performance, and availability to ensure system reliability.

- Perform database tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.

- Manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions.

- Troubleshoot database-related issues, incidents, outages, deadlocks, and performance bottlenecks.

- Support database upgrades, migrations, patching, and replication activities.

- Collaborate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and cloud teams.

- Automate routine DBA activities using scripting and monitoring tools.

- Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and architecture standards.

Good to Have :

- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of Python, Bash, or Ansible automation.

- Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized database deployments.

- PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS, Azure, or Cloud-related certifications.
