Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator with 8+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup & recovery, and production support.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in managing large-scale MySQL databases in 24x7 production environments and be comfortable handling critical database operations and L2/L3 support.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL databases.

- Manage database performance, capacity, availability, and reliability.

- Perform SQL query optimization and database performance tuning.

- Implement and manage MySQL Replication, High Availability, and failover solutions.

- Handle database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and restoration activities.

- Monitor database health, performance, storage, and resource utilization.

- Troubleshoot database issues, incidents, and performance bottlenecks.

- Perform database migrations, patching, upgrades, and version upgrades.

- Manage database users, roles, privileges, security, and access controls.

- Work closely with development and application teams to optimize SQL queries and database design.

- Automate routine DBA activities using Shell/Python scripting.

- Participate in production deployments and provide L2/L3 database support.

- Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.

- Participate in 24x7 on-call/production support as required.

Required Skills :

- 8+ years of strong hands-on MySQL DBA experience.

- Strong expertise in MySQL 5.x/8.x.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with MySQL Replication.

- Strong experience in Backup & Recovery.

- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills.

- Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Good understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts.

- Experience with database migration, patching, and upgrades.

- Strong understanding of indexing, partitioning, execution plans, and query optimization.

- Experience with Shell scripting and automation.

Good to Have :

- AWS RDS / Aurora MySQL

- AWS Cloud experience

- MySQL Cluster / InnoDB Cluster / Group Replication

- Percona

- Kubernetes / containerized database environments

- Terraform / Ansible
