Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator with 46 years of hands-on experience in managing Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB environments. The candidate will be responsible for database installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, performance optimization, backup and recovery, upgrades, security, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Datadog monitoring and configuration and Commvault backup management, along with the ability to handle L2/L3 database incidents and collaborate effectively with application, infrastructure, security, and backup teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB environments.

- Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health to ensure optimal operation.

- Perform database backup, restore, and recovery activities to support business continuity.

- Manage and troubleshoot database incidents and provide timely resolution for L2/L3 issues.

- Perform database patching, upgrades, and version migrations in accordance with vendor recommendations and organizational standards.

- Monitor and optimize database performance, including queries, indexes, storage, memory, CPU, and resource utilization.

- Configure and manage Datadog for database monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and performance visibility.

- Manage Commvault backup configurations, backup jobs, restores, and related troubleshooting.

- Implement and maintain database security, including user access, roles, permissions, and compliance controls.

- Support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) configurations, including recovery testing and validation.

- Conduct regular database health checks and identify potential performance, capacity, and availability issues.

- Prepare and maintain database administration documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and health check reports.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, backup, security, and other technology teams on deployments, troubleshooting, upgrades, and database-related projects.

- Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, and preventive action activities.

Requirements :

- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration.

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration.

- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB administration.

- Experience with database upgrades, patching, and version migrations.

- Experience configuring and managing Datadog for database monitoring.

- Hands-on experience with Commvault Backup management.

- Strong database troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.

- Experience handling L2/L3 database support.

- Good understanding of database backup, restore, recovery, HA, and DR concepts.
