Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

- Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB database systems.

- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of database systems.

Performance Tuning and Optimization:

- Analyse database performance metrics and optimize queries and indexing strategies.

- Implement best practices for scaling MongoDB databases in high-transaction environments.

Data Security and Compliance:

- Implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy.

- Manage access controls and authentication mechanisms.

- Ensure compliance with government regulations and data protection laws.

Backup and Recovery:

- Develop and manage backup strategies to prevent data loss.

- Plan and execute data recovery procedures in case of system failures.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with development teams to understand database requirements and provide support.

- Assist in schema design and data modelling to optimize application performance.

Monitoring and Reporting:

- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.

- Generate reports on database performance, usage statistics, and potential bottlenecks.

Documentation:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.

- Document changes and updates to database systems for future reference.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with at least 3 years specializing in MongoDB.

- Proven experience in managing large-scale MongoDB deployments in production environments.

Certifications:

- MongoDB Certified DBA Associate or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Technical Expertise:

- Strong proficiency in MongoDB administration, including sharding, replication, and scaling.

- Knowledge of database design principles, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.

- Experience with monitoring tools such as MongoDB Ops Manager, Nagios, or equivalent.

Data Security:

- Understanding of data encryption, authentication mechanisms, and security best practices.

- Experience implementing compliance requirements related to data protection.

Problem-Solving:

- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues efficiently.

Communication and Collaboration:

- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Organizational Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Proactive approach to identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.

Understanding of E-Governance:

- Familiarity with the Digital India initiative and e-governance frameworks.

- Awareness of government IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
