- Backup & Recovery : Design, implement, and validate robust database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes, ensuring strict alignment with corporate RPO and RTO metrics across physical SAN and cloud-attached storage tiers.

- Capacity & Storage Planning : Handle long-term capacity planning, database device allocations, segment management, and growth forecasting to ensure optimal space management for Very Large Databases (VLDBs).

- Health Monitoring : Monitor system health and capacity proactively, designing advanced instrumentation using system tables, sp_sysmon, and native diagnostic utilities alongside third-party enterprise monitoring tools.

- Incident Management & Corruption Recovery : Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, severe engine locks, spinlock contentions, network log blockages, and lead emergency recovery operations for database page corruption using advanced dbcc utilities.

- High Availability & Replication Engineering : Structure, configure, and maintain robust high availability and real-time data distribution networks, troubleshooting complex Sybase Replication Server topologies (warm standby, MSA, stable queue management), failover clusterings, and automated failover setups.

- Migrations & Upgrades : Plan, architect, and execute seamless Sybase ASE/IQ database version migrations, cross-platform upgrades, lifecycle management, and Emergency Bug Fix (EBF) patching with minimal business downtime.

- Automation Engineering : Develop and maintain unified automation frameworks for routine administrative tasks, automated database consistency checks (dbcc), and automated alerting using UNIX/Linux Shell scripting (Bash/Ksh) or Perl.

- Platform & Infrastructure Management : Manage, configure, and tune Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) and Sybase IQ architectures across physical and virtual enterprise Unix/Linux environments.

- Production Operations : Provide expert L2/L3 production operational support, leading critical Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, implementing preventive actions, and participating in high-priority on-call frameworks.

- PostgreSQL Administration & Migration (Add-on) : Provide secondary operational overview, maintenance support, or target-schema and code mapping compatibility assessments for cloud migration initiatives moving legacy Sybase workloads to PostgreSQL / AWS RDS / Azure PostgreSQL environments.
