Convergent Technology - Tech Lead - Java

The Mission :

We are looking for a multiplier to lead our engineering team in building the next generation of travel experiences. In the travel industry, every millisecond counts-whether it's fetching real-time flight data or managing hotel inventory across global time zones. You will be responsible for the technical health of our platform and, more importantly, the growth and productivity of the engineers who build it.

Talent Development : Conduct regular 1-on-1s and technical workshops to transform junior developers into high-performing full-stack engineers.

Code Excellence : Lead by example with high-quality, reusable, and testable code. You will own the code review process, focusing on performance for high-traffic search and booking modules.

Domain Coaching : Educate the team on travel-specific complexities, such as NDC (New Distribution Capability), GDS integrations (Amadeus/Sabre), and the logic of dynamic pricing.

Resource Management : Identify team bottlenecks (e.g., environment downtime, unclear requirements) and proactively resolve them to keep the development pipeline moving.

Stakeholder Liaison : Work closely with Product Managers to translate complex travel business logic into technical user stories.

Performance Tuning : Optimize search latency and caching strategies (using Redis or Elasticsearch) to ensure near-instantaneous flight/hotel results.

Frontend : React.js or Angular (Mastery of state management and responsive design for mobile-first travelers).

Data & Cache : PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis (for real-time pricing/availability), and Elasticsearch.

Travel Specific (Preferred) : Experience with OTA platforms, Payment Gateway integration, or Booking Engine logic.

Cloud : AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).

Calm Under Pressure : Ability to lead the team through 'Priority 1' issues during peak travel seasons.

Analytical Tracking : Data-driven approach to tracking team performance and system
