Job Title : Senior Engineer I QA
About the Role :
Contentstack is seeking a Senior Engineer I QA to join our dynamic, innovative, and fast-paced engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our products through a combination of manual and automated testing. You will own end-to-end quality processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to building scalable, robust, and customer-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Take full ownership of assigned QA tasks and deliverables across projects.
- Design and develop test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on feature requirements and specifications.
- Perform manual functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate new features and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain automation test scripts for UI and API testing to ensure high test coverage.
- Utilize Selenium and Playwright (JavaScript) for automation testing of web applications.
- Conduct API testing using Postman with JavaScript scripting for validation, automation, and reporting.
- Accurately identify, reproduce, and log defects/bugs using defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Provide timely project status updates and escalate issues, risks, or bottlenecks to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand domain requirements and ensure optimal solutions.
- Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.
- Continuously enhance QA processes and frameworks, driving improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay open to learning new tools, technologies, and frameworks as required by evolving business needs.
Requirements :
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proven experience in manual testing across functional and non-functional areas.
- Solid hands-on experience with automation frameworks, particularly Selenium and Playwright (JavaScript).
- Proficiency in API automation testing using Postman with scripting capabilities.
- Understanding of test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to adapt quickly in iterative development cycles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify edge cases and potential risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
