Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Shopify Developer with 3 to 6 years of experience to join our e-commerce engineering team in Chennai.

This role is designed for a technical expert who can bridge the gap between high-end design and robust e-commerce functionality.

You will be responsible for developing custom, high-converting Shopify and WordPress themes from scratch, optimizing store performance, and implementing complex logic using the Shopify Liquid templating language and modern JavaScript APIs.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and is proficient in building scalable, responsive online stores that deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

- Custom Theme Development : Architect and develop bespoke Shopify themes from scratch using Liquid, ensuring a unique brand identity while maintaining high performance.

- Liquid Logic Implementation : Write complex Liquid templating code to handle dynamic content, advanced product filtering, and custom section schemas.

- JavaScript API Integration : Implement seamless, asynchronous user interactions using Shopify JS APIs, including the AJAX Cart API for "drawer" carts and the Storefront API for custom frontends.

- Frontend Excellence : Deliver pixel-perfect, responsive web designs using HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES5/ES6) that function flawlessly across all devices and browsers.

- Plugin & App Management : Select, integrate, and customize third-party Shopify apps and WordPress plugins to extend store functionality without compromising site speed.

- Performance Optimization : Monitor and optimize Core Web Vitals, including LCP and CLS, by minifying assets, lazy loading images, and reducing script execution times.

- WordPress Management : Maintain and develop WordPress-based corporate sites or blogs, ensuring consistent branding and secure, high-uptime environments.

- Collaborative Development : Work closely with UX/UI designers and project managers to translate Figma/Adobe XD mockups into functional technical requirements.

- Troubleshooting & QA : Conduct rigorous cross-browser testing and debug theme-level issues to ensure a frictionless checkout journey.

Technical Must-Have Skills :

- Shopify Core : Expert-level knowledge of Shopify Liquid, including snippets, sections, and global objects.

- Programming : Proficiency in Modern JavaScript (ES6+), with a focus on DOM manipulation and asynchronous programming.

- API Expertise : Hands-on experience with Shopify AJAX API, Sections API, and the Storefront API.

- Frontend Frameworks : Expert command over HTML5, CSS3, and responsive frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.

- WordPress Proficiency : Experience in developing custom WordPress themes and understanding the WordPress template hierarchy.

- Development Tools : Proficient in using Shopify CLI, Theme Kit, and version control systems like Git.

Preferred Skills :

- Headless Commerce : Experience with Hydrogen & Oxygen or building headless stores using React/Next.js and the Shopify Storefront API.

- Data Management : Familiarity with GraphQL for fetching specific data payloads from the Shopify Admin/Storefront APIs.

- Technical SEO : Knowledge of schema markup (JSON-LD), structured data, and SEO-friendly URL structures for e-commerce.

- E-commerce Strategy : Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles and A/B testing methodologies.

- Backend Basics : Basic knowledge of Node.js or Ruby on Rails for building private Shopify apps.
