Role Summary :

Colan Infotech is hiring a high-caliber .NET Developer (Migration Engineer) to lead critical application modernization and data migration initiatives. In this role, you will act as a "Modernization Architect," analyzing legacy systems and designing robust strategies to transition them to .NET Core and cloud-native platforms.

You will be responsible for building sophisticated ETL-like migration tools, refactoring code for high scalability, and implementing infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform or Ansible. This position requires a "Quality-First" mindset to ensure data integrity during complex mapping and transformation phases. The ideal candidate thrives in an Agile environment and is comfortable working US business hours to support global migration roadmaps.

Responsibilities :

- Legacy System Modernization : Analyze complex legacy architectures and define comprehensive migration paths to .NET Core or newer frameworks.

- Migration Tooling Development : Design and build custom ETL tools and integration workflows to automate the movement of data between legacy and modern systems.

- Full-Stack .NET Engineering : Develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API as part of modernization workstreams.

- Infrastructure Automation : Implement and administer infrastructure as code (IaC) using systems such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline deployments.

- Data Migration Governance : Oversee intricate data mapping, transformation, and validation processes to ensure zero data loss during transitions between SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

- Code Refactoring : Audit and refactor legacy codebases to improve performance, maintainability, and compatibility with modern CI/CD pipelines.

- API Integration : Architect and develop secure RESTful APIs to facilitate interoperability between hybrid environments during the migration phase.

- DevOps Collaboration : Work alongside QA and DevOps teams to implement automated deployment strategies and integrate migration tools into the CI/CD lifecycle.

- Technical Documentation : Author detailed migration plans, infrastructure diagrams, and post-migration verification reports to ensure engineering clarity.

- System Troubleshooting : Act as the primary point of contact for resolving high-priority application and data-related issues during go-live windows.

Technical Requirements :

- Core .NET Proficiency : 46 years of experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, and C#.

- Modernization Expertise : Proven track record in migrating legacy enterprise systems to modern .NET or cloud-native (Azure/AWS) architectures.

- ETL & Data Engineering : Strong hands-on experience building ETL tooling and managing complex database migrations.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Practical experience with at least one automation system like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

- Web Services : Expert knowledge of ASP.NET Web API and RESTful service design.

Preferred Skills :

- Cloud Migration Tools : Familiarity with Azure Migrate, AWS Application Discovery Service, or similar cloud-native migration suites.

- Database Diversity : Experience handling migrations across multiple RDBMS platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.

- Agile SaaS Delivery : Demonstrated success operating within Agile sprints to deliver production-grade SaaS software.

- Security Standards : Knowledge of implementing secure data transit protocols and encryption during the migration lifecycle.

Core Competencies :

- Analytical Rigor : A methodical approach to troubleshooting "breaking changes" in legacy code refactoring.

- Communication Excellence : Ability to translate technical migration risks into business impact for stakeholders and architects.

- Ownership & Drive : Highly motivated to own the migration lifecycle end-to-end, from discovery to post-migration support.

- Adaptability : Comfortable working a late-night shift (8 PM 4 AM) to align with global project timelines.
