Position Title : Cognos Developer.

Experience Range : 5+ Years.

Location : Remote.

Key Skills :

- Skilled in managing user access, defining roles and permissions, and ensuring secure data governance across BI platforms.

- Experienced in handling version-controlled deployments between development, QA, and production environments, ensuring smooth releases with minimal disruption.

- Proficient in configuring scheduled jobs, automated report distribution, and bursting capabilities to deliver insights to targeted user groups.

- Hands-on expertise in creating interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using IBM Cognos, aligned with business KPIs and usability best practices.

- Strong command over SQL, including complex joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions to support reporting and analytics requirements.

- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles such as star schema modeling, fact and dimension tables, and ETL workflows to support structured analytical solutions.

- Ability to engage with stakeholders, gather functional requirements, and convert them into scalable, meaningful BI deliverables.

- Experienced in defining business KPIs, designing metrics, and building dashboards that support performance tracking and decision-making.

- Skilled in validating datasets, performing reconciliation, identifying anomalies, and troubleshooting data or reporting discrepancies.

- Capable of working closely with IT, business teams, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment, quality, and successful project delivery.

- Able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and provide clear updates, documentation, and presentations.

- Adept at diagnosing issues, optimizing queries, improving dashboard performance, and providing quick resolutions.

- Proficient in preparing technical documentation, release notes, user guides, and maintaining version history for audit and compliance.

- Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision while consistently delivering high-quality outputs within timelines.

Must Have Skills :

- Cognos Reporting.

Good to have Skills :

- Power BI / Tableau basics.

- Python or R for analytics.

- Git or version control.

- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.

- Exposure to DevOps CI/CD for BI deployments.
