Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and support enterprise-grade database platforms across AWS and Azure.

- Perform system DBA responsibilities for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.

- Support PaaS and RDS database services by defining platform policies, security standards, and networking configurations.

- Enable self-service database capabilities for application teams while maintaining governance and compliance.

- Implement robust database security controls, encryption, auditing, and access-management practices.

- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational security requirements.

- Manage database patching, upgrades, lifecycle activities, and end-of-life transitions.

- Monitor and optimize database performance across diverse enterprise workloads.

- Design and implement automation for database provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, and operational processes.

- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform and Ansible.

- Build and maintain CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, GitLab, and Azure DevOps.

- Validate and certify database environments supporting business-critical applications.

- Implement and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies.

- Provide incident and problem management support for database-related issues.

- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Conduct capacity planning, resource forecasting, and scalability assessments.

- Drive operational excellence and reduce manual intervention through automation and standardized processes.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to deliver reliable database services.

Required Skills:

- Strong experience in enterprise database administration and platform engineering.

- Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.

- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and cloud database services.

- Experience with AWS and Azure database platforms.

- Knowledge of database security, compliance, encryption, auditing, and access controls.

- Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery concepts.

- Experience with database performance monitoring and tuning.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.

- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell.

- Experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

- Good understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.

- Strong incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

Preferred Profile:

- Experience managing enterprise-scale database platforms across multi-cloud environments.

- Exposure to PaaS databases such as Cosmos DB, SQL Managed Instance, RDS Aurora, and MongoDB.

- Experience building self-service database platforms for application teams.

- Strong focus on security, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional infrastructure, application, security, and engineering teams.
