About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Senior COBOL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications, with a deep understanding of legacy systems and mainframe environments. You will work closely with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL (Mainframe / Micro Focus COBOL).

- Enhance, debug, and optimize existing legacy applications.

- Work with JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and other mainframe tools/environments.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Perform system analysis, design documentation, and code reviews.

- Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.

- Ensure code quality, performance, and compliance with established standards.

- Participate in migration, modernization, and integration projects (if applicable).

- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL development.

- Strong working knowledge of Mainframe environments (JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, TSO/ISPF).

- Proficient in debugging, performance tuning, and production support.

- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Endevor, Changeman, or equivalent).

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
