Role : Cloud Solution Architect (Multi Cloud)


Location : Chennai / Global Delivery


Department : Cloud Services


Role Type : Senior / Principal Architect


1. Role Mission :


The Cloud Solution Architect (Multi Cloud) is responsible for designing secure, scalable, and high performance cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP. This role partners with product development, DevOps, infrastructure, and customer teams to deliver enterprise grade solutions for applications, data platforms, IoT, integration, and operations.


The architect will drive cloud strategy, reference architectures, modernization roadmaps, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and reliability across all workloads.


2. Key Responsibilities :


A. Architecture & Solution Design :


- Lead end to end architecture for cloud solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.


- Design scalable, secure, and cost optimized multi cloud architectures.


- Create HLD/LLD, architecture blueprints, ADRs, integration patterns, and migration strategies.


- Architect workloads for :


a. Microservices & APIs


b. Serverless computing


c. Event streaming


d. IoT ingestion & digital twins


e. Data platforms & analytics


f. DevOps automation


g. Infrastructure modernization


B. Cloud Modernization & Migration :


- Lead cloud adoption assessments and cloud readiness initiatives.


- Define modernization pathways : rehost, replatform, refactor, rebuild.


- Build cloud landing zones, governance, identity, networking, and resource hierarchies.


- Guide application teams on modernization frameworks and target-state architecture.


C. Security, Compliance & Governance :


- Define cloud security architectures including :


a. Identity & access management


b. Key management & encryption


c. Zero Trust & network segmentation


d. Container & API security


- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, and industry standards.


- Establish policy as code, tagging standards, FinOps, and cost governance.


D. DevOps, SRE & Automation :


- Define CI/CD architectures using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline.


- Build IaC frameworks (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation).


- Enable logging, monitoring, observability, and SRE practices for proactive operations.


- Mentor engineering teams on cloud-native patterns, scalability, and resilience.


E. Stakeholder & Technical Leadership :


- Serve as the primary technical advisor for internal and customer cloud programs.


- Conduct technical workshops, PoCs, solution walkthroughs, and architecture reviews.


- Collaborate with cross functional teams : Product, DevOps, Cybersecurity, QA, Infra, and Delivery.


- Support presales effortssolutioning, proposals, sizing, costing.


3. Required Technical Skills :


A. Cloud Platforms (Expertise Required) :


- Microsoft Azure : AAD, AKS, App Services, API Management, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, Functions, Monitor, Defender for Cloud.


- AWS : EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, KMS, VPC.


- GCP : GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, IAM.


B. Architecture & Engineering :


- Microservices, containers, Kubernetes, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).


- Event driven architectures using Kafka/EventHub/PubSub.


- API first design, GraphQL/REST, async messaging patterns.


- Data architecturesOLTP/OLAP, data lakes, real time pipelines.


C. Security :


- IAM, RBAC, PAM


- Network security & firewalls


- API security & OAuth2/OIDC/JWT


- Key vaults, encryption, secrets mgmt


- Threat modeling and secure cloud baselines


D. DevOps & SRE :


- Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, CloudFormation


- GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / GitLab CI / Jenkins


- Observability : Prometheus, Grafana, AppInsights, CloudWatch, Elastic


- SRE practices : SLO/SLI measurement, error budgets, fault injection testing


4. Experience & Qualification Requirements :


- 10 to 15+ years in IT with at least 6+ years in cloud architecture.


- Proven experience designing enterprise architectures across Azure, AWS, and GCP.


- Strong background in distributed systems, cloud-native engineering, and microservices.


- Solid understanding of integration across hybrid environments (on prem + cloud).


- Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and running architecture boards.


5. Certifications (Strongly Preferred) :


At least one expert-level certification from two cloud providers :


- Azure :


a. Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ 305)


b. Azure DevOps Expert


- AWS :


a. AWS Solutions Architect Professional


b. AWS DevOps Engineer Professional


- GCP :


a. Google Professional Cloud Architect


b. Security (Bonus)


- CISSP, CCSP, AZ 500, or equivalent


6. Soft Skills :


- Strong architectural communication and storytelling.


- Ability to simplify complex concepts for business stakeholders.


- Leadership in technical discussions and conflict resolution.


- High ownership, accountability, and cross team influence.


7. Success Metrics / KPIs :


- Architecture quality & compliance scores


- Reduction in cloud cost per workload


- Reliability (SLO adherence, MTTR reduction)


- Deployment frequency & automation coverage


- Number of successful cloud migrations


- Internal team enablement & knowledge development
