CleverTap - Lead Backend Engineer - Java/Python

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust backend services and APIs that power our products.

- Architect scalable and maintainable backend systems using best practices and modern technologies.

- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Drive technical decisions, code reviews, and enforce coding standards across the backend team.

- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers to foster skill development and ensure high code quality.

- Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize application efficiency, and improve system reliability.

- Stay updated with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

- Lead efforts in technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and process improvements.

- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis to minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Skills :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 7+ years of professional experience in backend software development.

- Strong expertise in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or

Ruby.

- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.

- Proficiency with databases (SQL and NoSQL), data modeling, and query optimization.

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Solid understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and leadership abilities to drive technical initiatives
