Job Summary :

Zeitgeist Retail Pvt. Ltd. (ZRPL) is looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, engineering organization, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.

The CTO will be responsible for building a scalable, secure, high-performance and cost-efficient technology ecosystem supporting ZRPL's e-commerce and retail business.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in e-commerce/retail technology, cloud architecture, software engineering, distributed systems, DevOps, cybersecurity, and technology leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and execute the company's technology strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.

- Lead the engineering and technology organization across backend, frontend, mobile, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and architecture.

- Design and govern scalable, highly available and resilient e-commerce architectures.

- Drive modernization of legacy platforms and adoption of cloud-native, microservices and event-driven architectures.

- Own AWS/cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, disaster recovery and infrastructure cost optimization.

- Ensure high performance and availability of digital commerce platforms during peak traffic and business-critical events.

- Lead integrations with OMS, WMS, ERP, payment gateways, logistics providers, marketplaces, CRM and third-party platforms.

- Establish technology security, DevSecOps, IAM, encryption, VAPT, vulnerability management and compliance practices.

- Define engineering standards around architecture, coding, testing, deployment, documentation and technical debt management.

- Drive adoption of AI, Generative AI, automation, analytics and data-driven solutions across products and business processes.

- Establish technology KPIs, engineering metrics, SLAs/SLOs, incident management and operational excellence.

- Manage technology budgets, vendors, technology partners and build-vs-buy decisions.

- Partner closely with the MD and business leadership to translate business objectives into technology initiatives.

- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing engineering organization.

Backend & Databases :

- Node.js/Python/Java/PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

Security :

- DevSecOps, OAuth2/JWT, IAM, Encryption, TLS, VAPT, Security & Compliance, Vulnerability Management.

E-commerce Technology :

- Magento/Shopify, OMS/WMS/ERP, Payment Gateway Integration, Logistics Integration, Marketplace Integration, Product Catalogue & Search, Order Management, Inventory & Pricing Systems.

Candidate Profile :

- 15+ years of experience in software engineering and technology.

- Previous experience as CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Engineering Director, or equivalent technology leadership role.

- Proven experience managing and scaling large engineering teams.

- Strong experience in e-commerce, retail, SaaS, marketplace or high-transaction digital platforms.

- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, software engineering, cybersecurity and DevOps.

- Demonstrated experience in technology transformation and modernization.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology investments with measurable business outcomes.

- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
