Platform Engineer - DevTools Support

Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer specializing in DevTools support to join our engineering team. This role focuses on administering, optimizing, and supporting critical developer tooling infrastructure that enables our engineering teams to build, test, and deploy software efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern CI/CD platforms, artifact management, and collaboration tools, with a strong focus on developer productivity and platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities :


- Administer and maintain core DevTools platforms including GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, and Confluence

- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for development teams using the DevTools ecosystem

- Manage user access, permissions, and security configurations across all DevTools platforms

- Monitor platform performance and availability, implementing proactive improvements to ensure high uptime

- Collaborate with development teams to understand tooling requirements and implement solutions that enhance developer productivity

- Create and maintain documentation for DevTools configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting guides

- Automate routine tasks related to platform administration and maintenance

- Integrate security scanning tools into the development workflow to support secure software delivery

- Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements to the DevTools stack

Required Skills & Experience :


- Strong hands-on experience with GitLab administration and configuration

- Proficiency in GitHub enterprise management and workflows

- Extensive knowledge of Jenkins including job configuration, plugin management, and pipeline development

- Experience managing Artifactory for artifact storage and repository management

- Solid understanding of Jira and Confluence administration and customization

- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy) for automation

- Understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices

- Experience with version control systems and branching strategies

- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous

- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Preferred/Bonus Skills :


- Experience with Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD migration projects - hands-on involvement in planning and executing migration strategies

- Knowledge of application security scanning tools including :

1. Mend (formerly WhiteSource) for software composition analysis

2. Fortify for static application security testing (SAST)

3. Checkmarx for security vulnerability detection

4. Wiz for IaC and container image scanning

- Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines

- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)

- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and secure software development lifecycle
