QA Automation Engineer - Kubernetes & Cloud

Job Description :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to validate web and microservices applications deployed on Kubernetes clusters.

- Use kubectl and Kubernetes APIs for validating cluster status, deployments, scaling, failover, node and pod health, config management, and network policies.

- Implement and execute automation strategies for CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.

- Validate multi-cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure reliability, security, and scalability of cloud-native applications.

- Conduct system, integration, performance, and chaos testing across distributed Kubernetes environments.

- Collaborate with DevOps for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), monitoring, alerts, and troubleshooting of test automation in CI/CD pipelines.

- Document and track bugs, perform risk analysis, and contribute to release readiness metrics and quality gates.

- Mentor junior team members in advanced test automation, troubleshooting, and best practices.

- Stay updated with the latest QA tools, techniques (chaos engineering, performance, load testing), and trends in Kubernetes/cloud automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6-8 years of hands-on experience in QA automation for cloud-based and containerized environments.

- Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes: strong understanding of components (pods, nodes, controllers, services), Kubernetes CLI (kubectl), Helm, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

- Experience in any one major cloud: AWS, GCP, or Azure (infrastructure, deployments, managed K8s services like EKS, AKS, GKE).

- Expertise with automation frameworks and scripting (Python, Java, JavaScript), and test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Pytest, etc.).

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure provisioning (Terraform, Ansible is a plus).

- Solid grounding in Linux fundamentals and networking.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; proven mentorship experience.

Preferred/Bonus Skills :

- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured).

- Performance and load testing (JMeter, k6).

- Exposure to GitOps, Helm, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), RBAC, security testing.

- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and incident management in distributed systems.

- Experience contributing to open-source/cloud-native communities.
