About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Odoo Lead Developer to own the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of Odoo-based solutions. This role is both hands-on technical and client-facing, so we need someone who can lead a team, talk confidently with stakeholders, and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. This is a 100% office-based role from our Ahmedabad location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, customization, and deployment of Odoo modules (Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, HR, Manufacturing, etc.).
- Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into robust Odoo solutions.
- Architect technical solutions including integrations with third-party systems (REST APIs, web services, payment gateways, etc.).
- Review and optimize existing code; ensure performance, security, and scalability of Odoo implementations.
- Guide and mentor a small team of Odoo developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.
- Collaborate closely with functional consultants, QA, and project managers to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Lead client meetings, demos, and technical workshops with international customers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and release notes.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide L3 support when required.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of total experience with at least 5+ years in Odoo development.
- Strong expertise in:
- Odoo framework (v12+ preferred, newer versions a plus)
- Python and OOP concepts
- PostgreSQL (database design, queries, optimization)
- Odoo ORM, QWeb, XML, and report customization
- Experience in configuring, customizing, and extending core Odoo modules.
- Hands-on experience integrating Odoo with external systems via APIs.
- Proven experience in a lead or senior developer role, managing small teams or acting as a technical owner.
Communication & Soft Skills (Very Important):
- Excellent verbal and written English must be able to:
- Lead client calls independently
- Explain technical concepts in simple business language
- Write clear emails, documents, and presentations
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
- Proactive, ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and guide others.
- Strong problem-solving skills, structured thinking, and attention to detail.
Work Mode & Shift:
- Work Mode: 100% office-based (no hybrid/remote)
- Location: Ahmedabad office (candidates must be willing to work onsite full-time)
- Timing: Regular office hours (MonFri), with flexibility for occasional client calls in different time zones.
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, Docker, etc.).
- Exposure to enterprise implementations of Odoo with multiple companies and large datasets.
- Odoo certification or contribution to the Odoo community.
