Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Java Engineer with strong expertise in Spring Boot and hands-on experience working with real-time data processing using Kafka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services that handle streaming data in real time.

Essential Skills :

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.

- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.

- Solid experience with Apache Kafka for real-time/streaming data processing.

- Understanding of Kafka topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, and event-driven design.

- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker).

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Should be able to dictate, manage, track progress of the team

- Conduct code reviews

- Ability to work with the project management team for essential project management

- Experience in working in Agile projects - with familiarity with tools such Jira

- Be flexible with working across time zones with overseas customers if required

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.

- Design and implement real-time data processing pipelines using Apache Kafka.

- Build and integrate microservices that consume, process, and publish streaming data.

- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.

- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to Kafka consumers/producers and backend services.

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

Desirable Skills :

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

- Exposure to Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or other stream-processing tools.

- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).

- Understanding of distributed systems and high-throughput architecture.
