Big Data Analyst - Kafka/Hadoop

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Analyst to join our data-driven team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to uncover insights, trends, and opportunities that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

You will work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to transform raw data into actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities :

- Collect, process, and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources.

- Utilize big data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.

- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analytics solutions.

- Identify data quality issues and work with engineering teams to resolve them.

- Apply statistical methods and predictive analytics to generate insights and support business forecasting.

- Conduct root cause analysis of business problems using data.

- Continuously optimize data analysis processes and implement automation where possible.

- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging big data technologies to recommend improvements.

- Support data governance and compliance efforts by ensuring data privacy and security protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

- Proven experience 3+ as a Big Data Analyst or similar role.

- Strong proficiency with big data platforms like Hadoop Ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce), Apache Spark,

and Kafka.

- Hands-on experience with data querying languages such as SQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase).

- Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.

- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala is a plus.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights clearly to non-

technical stakeholders.

- Experience working in Agile teams and using project management tools
