BI Developer - DAX Power BI/Power Query M

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced BI Developer with strong expertise in Tableau to Power BI migration projects.

The candidate will be responsible for migrating existing Tableau dashboards, reports, calculations, and visualizations to Power BI while ensuring data accuracy, performance, and functional consistency.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, DAX, Power Query, and SQL, along with a strong understanding of data validation, report optimization, and business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Migrate existing Tableau dashboards, reports, visualizations, and calculations to Power BI.

- Analyze existing Tableau solutions and understand their data sources, business logic, calculations, and reporting requirements.

- Develop equivalent Power BI dashboards and reports while maintaining functional and visual consistency with the original Tableau reports.

- Use Power BI, DAX, and Power Query to implement calculations, data transformations, and reporting logic.

- Write and optimize SQL queries to support data extraction, validation, and reporting requirements.

- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency between Tableau and Power BI outputs.

- Optimize Power BI reports, data models, and dashboard performance to improve usability and efficiency.

- Troubleshoot migration-related issues, including discrepancies in calculations, visualizations, filters, and data outputs.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, clarify business logic, and validate migrated dashboards.

- Conduct functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the migrated reports meet business expectations.

- Document migration processes, report mappings, calculation logic, and validation results.

- Support end-to-end BI migration activities, from assessment and development through testing and deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong hands-on experience in Tableau to Power BI migration projects.

- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, DAX, Power Query, and SQL.

- Experience converting Tableau dashboards, reports, calculated fields, and visualizations into Power BI.

- Strong understanding of data modelling, data transformation, and business intelligence reporting.

- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and ensuring consistency between source and migrated reports.

- Knowledge of Power BI dashboard performance optimization and troubleshooting.

- Ability to analyze existing BI solutions and translate business logic into equivalent Power BI implementations.

- Experience in report testing, defect resolution, and UAT support.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
