Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Commvault Backup Administrator with 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise backup and recovery environments.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Commvault administration, CommServe management, backup operations, deduplication technologies, disaster recovery, and storage management.

The role involves ensuring the availability, integrity, and recoverability of critical business data while maintaining backup infrastructure performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer, configure, and maintain Commvault backup and recovery infrastructure.

- Manage and support CommServe servers, Media Agents, and client configurations.

- Monitor daily backup and restore operations to ensure successful job completion.

- Perform backup scheduling, policy management, retention configuration, and capacity planning.

- Configure and manage deduplication policies to optimize storage utilization and backup performance.

- Execute data backup, restoration, and recovery activities across enterprise environments.

- Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, and infrastructure-related incidents.

- Manage backup environments for physical, virtual, and cloud-based workloads.

- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity backup solutions.

- Conduct backup validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery drills.

- Optimize backup infrastructure performance through tuning and best practices.

- Manage storage resources associated with backup and recovery operations.

- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, cloud, and application teams to support backup requirements.

- Ensure compliance with organizational data protection, retention, and security policies.

- Perform backup environment health checks and proactive maintenance activities.

- Support backup infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities.

- Create and maintain operational procedures, backup documentation, and recovery runbooks.

- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.

- Provide on-call support for backup and recovery-related issues when required.

- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to backup and recovery processes.

Required Skillsets :

- Strong hands-on experience with Commvault Backup Administration.

- Expertise in CommServe installation, configuration, and management.

- Experience managing Media Agents and backup storage infrastructure.

- Strong knowledge of Commvault Deduplication technologies.

- Experience with backup, recovery, and restore operations across enterprise environments.

- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity processes.

- Experience with virtual environment backups including VMware and Hyper-V.

- Understanding of backup policies, retention management, and storage optimization.

- Experience supporting Windows and Linux server backup environments.

- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and enterprise storage technologies.

- Familiarity with cloud backup and recovery solutions.

- Experience with backup performance tuning and troubleshooting.

- Understanding of data protection, compliance, and information security requirements.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with monitoring and reporting tools within Commvault environments.

- Knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- Commvault Certified Professional (CCP) or equivalent certification.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Shell Scripting.

- Experience working in large enterprise or managed services environments.

- Exposure to backup migration and infrastructure modernization projects.
