Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop scalable backend systems using Node.js and/or Rust

- Architect and implement event-driven systems using Kafka

- Build and maintain microservices in a cloud-native AWS environment

- Design APIs and backend services for high throughput and low latency

- Lead architectural discussions and define system design best practices

- Optimize databases and backend services for performance and reliability

- Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms

- Collaborate with DevOps to maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation

- Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Core Technical Skills :

- 6+ years of backend development experience

- Minimum 3 years in an architect / principal engineer capacity

- Strong expertise in : Rust and/or Node.js, Kafka (event streaming & pub/sub systems), MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases)

- Experience designing high-performance distributed systems

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture

- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services

DevOps & Infrastructure :

- Experience with : Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation preferred).

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines

- Knowledge of system monitoring and observability tools

System Design :

- Expertise in : Scalable architecture design, Event-driven systems, Data-intensive platform design, Performance optimization

- Ability to evaluate and communicate architectural trade-offs
