We are seeking two experienced Backend Ruby Engineers to join a remote-first engineering team working on a key data reporting and analytics module. You will contribute to the development of data visualisation and reporting features that deliver deep insights into physical performance metrics and trends.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, backend services, and data processing, while collaborating with a world-class team of engineers, product managers, and data scientists.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and MySQL databases

- Work closely with frontend engineers to deliver seamless, end-to-end features

- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate and support data processing models

- Ensure adherence to security best practices (e.g. encryption, access controls)

- Manage and enhance AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC tools

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high-quality, maintainable codebase

- Debug and resolve production issues across various layers of the stack

- Improve development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows

Technical Requirements :

- Ruby - 5+ years of professional experience in backend development

- AWS - 5+ years working with cloud infrastructure and services

- MySQL - 5+ years of database design, optimisation, and query performance tuning

- Terraform - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code

- RESTful APIs - Skilled in designing and maintaining secure and scalable APIs

- Security Awareness - Experience working within environments aligned to audited standards (e.g. ISO27001)

Collaboration & Communication :

- 5+ years of experience working in remote teams with asynchronous communication

- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments (minimum 2 years)

- Comfortable collaborating directly with product and QA teams

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
