As a Senior Backend Engineer Advisor, you won't write code; you will provide high-level architectural guidance and strategic technical direction. Key Responsibilities :

In this role, you will be the key voice guiding our technical direction. Your core responsibilities will include :

- Architectural Leadership : Provide high-level guidance and critical review of our backend architecture, data models, and API design to ensure robustness and scalability.

- Performance & Optimization : Analyze and recommend improvements for system scalability, security, and cost-efficiency across our infrastructure.

- Real-Time & Audio Expertise : Advise on the evolution of our core real-time messaging infrastructure and audio streaming/processing pipelines, ensuring best practices.

- Code & Quality Oversight : Conduct high-level code reviews on key pull requests, providing mentorship and ensuring code quality, system integrity, and knowledge transfer.

- Technology Strategy : Offer strategic guidance on technology stack selection and the integration of third-party services.

- Time Commitment : Contribute 3-5 hours per week through a mix of scheduled video calls and asynchronous communication.

What We're Looking For-(You) :

A. Proven Expertise : A minimum of 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.

B. Specialized Technical Mastery : Deep, hands-on experience with real-time communication technologies (WebSockets, WebRTC) and audio processing is essential for this role.

C. Strategic Architect : You are a strategic thinker who excels at designing scalable systems, anticipating technical challenges, and making high-impact architectural decisions.

D. Exceptional Communicator : You can distill complex technical concepts into clear, concise advice for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points (Ideal Background)

1. Prior experience developing or architecting a messaging or communication app.

2. A background in technical leadership (e.g., Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, VP of Engineering, or CTO).

3. Proven experience managing and mentoring remote, results-oriented engineering teams.

Our Tech Stack (Experience in these is a plus!)

Backend : Node.js.

Database : PostgreSQL.

Other technologies : Postman, Socket.io, WebRTC, API integration.

Compensation Structure :

This is a part-time, advisory role with a revenue-sharing compensation model, not a fixed salary. The structure is designed to directly align the advisor's success with the company's growth.
