Backend Developer (Python) | WealthQ

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong Python expertise and hands-on experience in building AI/ML-powered features for large-scale B2C products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Build, maintain, and scale backend services using Python for high-traffic B2C applications.

- Design, develop, and optimize REST APIs and backend systems following clean architecture principles.

- Develop and ship AI/ML-powered features, with exposure to Agentic AI being a strong advantage.

- Integrate backend systems with third-party platforms and external services.

- Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL and NoSQL queries for performance and scalability.

- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

- Debug production issues and continuously improve application reliability and performance.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- 3+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience using Python in production-grade B2C environments.

- At least 6 months of experience building and shipping AI/ML-based features; experience with Agentic AI is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of backend fundamentals, including APIs, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices.

- Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and backend services.

- Strong expertise in SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization.

- Prior experience working with B2C product companies or startups; experience in Series D+ startups or fintech companies is preferred.

- Stable career history with consistent tenure across previous organizations.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working in founding or early engineering teams.

- Willingness to work six days a week from the office.

- Degree from a Tier-1 engineering institute is an added advantage.
