Backend Developer - Python

Role & Responsibilities :

- Build and maintain scalable backend services using Python for high-traffic B2C applications.

- Design, develop, and optimize REST APIs and backend systems following clean architecture and best engineering practices.

- Develop and ship AI/ML-powered features, with exposure to Agentic AI being a strong advantage.

- Integrate backend services with third-party platforms and external systems.

- Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL/NoSQL queries for performance and scalability.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to build customer-focused features.

- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and technical discussions.

- Debug production issues, improve system reliability, and continuously optimize application performance.

Ideal Candidate :

Strong Backend Python Developer Profile :

- Mandatory (Experience 1) - Must have 3+ years of hands-on Backend Engineering experience using Python building production-grade systems in a B2C product environment.

- Mandatory (Experience 2) - Must have 6 month+ experience building and shipping AI/ML based features (agentic AI experience is highly preferred).

- Mandatory (Experience 3) - Must have a solid understanding of backend fundamentals, including API development, service-oriented architecture, data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices.

- Mandatory (Experience 4) - Must have experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and backend services, including integrations with external systems.

- Mandatory (Experience 5) - Must have strong experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including efficient data modeling and query optimization.

- Mandatory (Company) - Must have worked in B2C product companies / startups (Series D+ Funded OR Fintech industry is highly preferred).

- Mandatory (Stability) - Must have a stable career history, with consistent tenure across previous companies; frequent job-hopping will not be considered.

- Mandatory (Exclusion) - Candidates currently working at Stable Money will not be considered.

- Mandatory (Note) - It is a funded early stage startup in Fintech space, candidate should be ok to work in fast paced environment.

- Mandatory (Note) - It is a founding tech team role, candidate should be willing to work 6 days, work in hustler environment.

- Preferred (College) - Tier1 engineering college is a plus plus.
