Backend Developer - Payment Infrastructure

We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Backend Engineer to play a critical role in building and scaling secure, cloud-native backend systems.

This role is ideal for a senior technologist who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing architecture, and driving engineering excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

You will work on mission-critical systems within fintech and payments infrastructure, with a strong focus on security, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :


- Design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems and APIs for fintech and payments platforms.


- Lead the architecture and implementation of cloud-native, microservices-based systems on Azure.


- Drive best practices in API design, system reliability, security, and performance.


- Partner with product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.


- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decision-making.


- Champion a security-first mindset, ensuring secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and API protection.


- Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers, raising the overall engineering bar.


- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns where appropriate.


- Operate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces and make high-impact technical decisions under pressure.

Required Skills & Qualifications :



- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in fintech or payments infrastructure.


- Strong backend development expertise in one or more of : C#, C++, Go, Java, Python.


- Proven experience with cloud-native development, preferably on Microsoft Azure.

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD pipelines.



- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.


- Solid knowledge of security fundamentals, including authentication (AuthN), authorization (AuthZ), SAML,

API security, and encryption.



- Understanding of cryptography and blockchain concepts, including blockchains, RPCs, and self-custody wallets.


- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
