Backend Developer - Node.js/Express.js

As a Back End Developer at Zuno, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical backbone of our customer-centric insurance platform. You will architect, build, and optimize APIs and services that deliver seamless experiences across motor and health insurance journeys.

You will tackle challenges around scalability, performance, and security ensuring our microservices and serverless components meet stringent SLAs. This role offers the opportunity to innovate on usage-based insurance telematics, API ecosystems, and cloud-native best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement secure, scalable REST APIs using Node.js/Express, adhering to industry best practices.

- Develop cron jobs and scheduled tasks to automate data workflows and support backend operations.

- Optimize data models and queries for SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring low-latency and high-throughput access.

- Implement authentication, authorization, caching, and distributed system patterns for robust service delivery.

- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, targeting >80% test coverage for all server-side components.

- Collaborate with front-end developers on full-stack features, leveraging React.js integrations where applicable.

- Monitor and troubleshoot production performance, utilizing logging and profiling tools to maintain 99.9% uptime.

- Leverage AWS services (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, CloudFront) to build serverless and containerized microservices.

- Participate in code reviews, conduct technical design sessions, and mentor peers to uphold coding standards.

Education and Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

- 2 to 5 years of hands-on backend development experience with Node.js/Express.

- Proven expertise with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.

- Experience designing and deploying solutions on AWS (serverless, microservices).

- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
