Backend Developer - Java Technologies

Job Description :

We are looking for a systems-driven and performance-focused Technical Lead/SDE-3 to build and scale the core backend infrastructure of a fixed-income investment platform. You will be responsible for designing distributed systems, writing high-performance code in Go or Java, and ensuring platform reliability through strong monitoring and CI/CD practices. This role is critical to delivering a secure, scalable, and seamless experience for our users as we grow rapidly in the fintech space.

Responsibilities :

- Design and implement scalable, distributed backend systems to power our investment products and APIs.

- Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Go and/or Java following best practices in modularity and maintainability.

- Own the end-to-end backend lifecycle from system design to deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

- Build robust infrastructure using AWS cloud services (e. g., EC2 RDS, Lambda, S3 SQS).

- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments.

- Monitor performance and system health using open-source observability tools such as

Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and Alert manager.

- Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes to ensure platform resilience.

- Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams to ship high-quality features and improvements.

- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and design sessions.

- Contribute to engineering processes, internal tooling, and documentation to raise the bar on team productivity and product quality.

Requirements :

- 6+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems in a production environment.

- Strong command of Go and/or Java, with a deep understanding of object-oriented and concurrent programming concepts.

- Proven experience designing and implementing distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.

- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services such as EC2 S3 RDS, Lambda, and SQS.

- Familiarity with observability and monitoring stacks like Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or equivalent tools.

- Experience in setting up and optimising CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.

- Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and caching solutions (e. g., Redis).

- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to incident

resolution.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.

- Prior experience working in startups or high-growth product environments is a strong plus.

- Bonus : Background in fintech, investments, or wealth-tech domains.
