Backend Developer

Role Overview :

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain robust server-side applications, APIs, and core platform services powering our digital consultation platform. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on coding experience and be actively involved in development. This role requires a problem-solving mindset, ownership attitude, and the ability to build scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- API Development :

i. Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs using REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.

ii. Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.

iii. Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of APIs.

iv. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.

- Backend Services :

i. Develop and manage core platform modules, including :

a. User account and profile management

b. Service provider onboarding and management

c. Booking and session scheduling systems

d. Wallet, payments, and transaction workflows

ii. Ensure services are scalable, modular, and easy to maintain.

- Database Management :

i. Design, develop, and optimize database schemas.

ii. Write efficient queries and ensure data integrity.

iii. Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of database systems.

- Real-Time Systems :

i. Build real-time features such as messaging and notifications.

ii. Develop WebSocket-based communication systems.

iii. Ensure low latency and high availability in real-time interactions.

- Collaboration & Ownership :

i. Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, and DevOps teams.

ii. Take end-to-end ownership of features from development to deployment.

iii. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvements.

iv. Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges.

Requirements :

- Required Skills & Qualifications :

i. 3-7 years of strong backend development experience.

ii. Strong proficiency in Typescript, HTML5, and CSS3.

iii. Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java, C#, or Go.

iv. Strong understanding of API design and backend architecture.

v. Experience building scalable and high-performance systems.

vi. Hands-on experience working in Agile development environments.

vii. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

- Tech Stack / Tools :

i. Backend Languages: Node.js / Python / Java / C# / Go / TypeScript

ii. Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB

iii. Caching: Redis

iv. APIs: REST, GraphQL, gRPC

v. Real-Time: WebSockets

- Preferred Skills :

i. Experience with microservices architecture.

ii. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

iii. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

iv. Experience in product-based companies is a plus.

v. Exposure to modern AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, etc.) to improve developer productivity.
