AWS Migration Specialist - NetApp

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced AWS Migration Specialist to lead end-to-end data center to AWS migration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VMware, SAN/NAS storage systems, and AWS-native migration tools, with the ability to execute large-scale, low-downtime migrations. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical skills, strong documentation practices, and cross-team collaboration to ensure smooth migration cutovers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Execute P2V, lift-and-shift, and re-platforming strategies ensuring minimal business downtime.

- Migrate servers, applications, and storage using AWS-native tools (DataSync, Snow Family, SMS, Application Migration Service, Migration Hub).

- Handle SAN/NAS transitions across platforms such as NetApp, EMC, IBM SVC, FSx, EFS, and S3.

- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to coordinate seamless migration cutovers.

- Utilize AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) / AWS Transform to streamline large-scale migration initiatives.

- Develop and maintain detailed migration playbooks and runbooks for scalable and automated workflows.

- Troubleshoot post-migration performance and optimization issues.

- Ensure compliance with cloud security, governance, and operational best practices.

Requirements :

- 68 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years in AWS and data center migrations.

- Strong expertise in VMware virtualization and SAN/NAS storage systems (NetApp, EMC, IBM SVC).

- Proven hands-on experience with AWS migration tools (DataSync, Application Migration Service, Migration Hub, Snowball).

- Solid understanding of AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN).

- Familiarity with lift-and-shift and hybrid cloud strategies.

- Strong analytical skills for performance troubleshooting and optimization post-migration.

- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with automation & scripting (Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell).

- Exposure to cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.
