Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to provision and validate cloud infrastructure for an Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE).

The role involves configuring AWS compute services, EKS, storage solutions, and observability tools to support application recovery.

The candidate will ensure infrastructure capacity, security, encryption, and monitoring requirements are met, enabling reliable recovery operations and successful failover testing.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provision and configure AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, Lambda functions, and Amazon EKS clusters.

- Configure and validate EKS node groups, ingress, workload scheduling, and container platform readiness within an isolated network.

- Provision, configure, and size AWS storage services, including S3, FSx for Windows, EFS, and DynamoDB.

- Implement and validate encryption, lifecycle management, access policies, and storage configurations in line with security requirements.

- Plan and validate storage capacity to support full-volume data restoration in coordination with backup and recovery teams.

- Enable observability across the recovery environment, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting.

- Configure CloudWatch or equivalent monitoring platforms to track infrastructure health, recovery progress, and failover testing activities.

- Perform component-level testing of compute, storage, networking, and container platform services before application deployment.

- Support cloud functional testing, infrastructure validation, and recovery readiness assessments.

- Document provisioning procedures, monitoring configurations, and operational processes for the operations handbook.

Mandatory Skills :

- 8+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure provisioning and architecture.

- Strong hands-on expertise in EC2, Lambda, and Amazon EKS.

- Experience with AWS storage services: S3, FSx for Windows, EFS, and DynamoDB.

- Knowledge of storage capacity planning, sizing, encryption, lifecycle policies, and access controls.

- Experience configuring EKS node groups, ingress, Kubernetes workloads, and scheduling.

- Hands-on experience with Amazon CloudWatch or equivalent observability platforms.

- Strong understanding of metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting.

- Experience performing infrastructure validation, component-level testing, and cloud environment readiness assessments.

- Ability to troubleshoot provisioning and storage issues in complex cloud environments.

Preferred Experience :

- Experience supporting disaster recovery, failover testing, or isolated recovery environments.

- Experience provisioning storage for large-scale data restoration workloads.

- Familiarity with secure cloud architecture and regulated enterprise environments.

- Experience collaborating with backup and recovery teams to validate restored data and storage capacity.

- Ability to develop technical documentation and operational handover procedures.

Key Deliverables :

- Provisioned and validated AWS compute, container, and storage infrastructure.

- Configured EKS clusters and validated workload readiness.

- Verified storage capacity, encryption, lifecycle management, and access policies.

- Enabled observability dashboards, metrics, logs, traces, and alerts.

- Completed component-level testing and supported cloud functional validation.

- Documented provisioning and monitoring procedures for operational handover.
