About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in automation testing, backend and API automation, microservices, and event-driven systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java or Python, Kafka, SQL databases, Azure cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines, along with the ability to build scalable automation frameworks and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend services, APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.

- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Java and/or Python.

- Perform API testing, integration testing, functional testing, and regression testing for REST-based services.

- Validate event-driven architectures and asynchronous workflows using Kafka.

- Write complex SQL queries and validate data across PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and other relational databases.

- Test cloud-based applications and data workflows deployed on Azure, including AKS, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Blob Storage.

- Conduct performance, load, and stress testing using tools such as JMeter or Locust.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitLab.

- Identify, troubleshoot, document, and track defects, working closely with development and DevOps teams to resolve issues.

- Apply BDD practices and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

- Improve test coverage, automation efficiency, framework reusability, and overall product quality.

- Maintain test documentation, execution reports, and quality metrics while following established testing standards.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 - 11 years of experience in automation testing, quality engineering, or software test automation.

- Strong hands-on experience in automation framework development using Java and/or Python.

- Expertise in REST API testing, backend automation, microservices, and integration testing.

- Working experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.

- Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL and/or Azure SQL.

- Hands-on exposure to Azure services, particularly AKS, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Blob Storage.

- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter and/or Locust.

- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitLab.

- Familiarity with BDD methodologies and Agile software development practices.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams.
