About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior UI & UX Designer to join our Specialties Zone for athenaClinicals, an award-winning electronic health record (EHR) and medical practice management platform. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Product Managers, Engineers, and other Designers - to craft engaging, intuitive, and scalable user experiences for healthcare professionals.

As a key member of our product design team, youll drive the end-to-end design process - from research and ideation to prototyping and delivery - ensuring every interaction helps clinicians provide better, faster, and more efficient care.

Key Responsibilities :

- End-to-End Design Ownership : Lead the design process from concept to implementation for web and mobile experiences within the athenaClinicals platform.

- User Research & Insights : Plan, conduct, and analyze user research, usability testing, and stakeholder interviews to identify user needs and pain points.

- Experience Strategy : Translate business goals and user insights into wireframes, user flows, information architecture, and interaction models.

- UI Development : Create pixel-perfect, high-fidelity UI designs aligned with brand and accessibility standards (WCAG compliance).

- Collaboration : Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and UX Researchers to deliver high-quality, implementable designs.

- Prototyping & Validation : Develop interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision to validate ideas and design hypotheses.

- Design Systems : Contribute to and maintain consistency across the companys design system and component library.

- Data-Driven Design : Use analytics and user feedback to iterate and improve product usability and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or a related discipline.

- 4+ years of experience designing digital products (preferably enterprise SaaS or healthcare systems).

- Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent tools.

- Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, responsive design, and accessibility standards.

- Ability to translate complex workflows into simple, elegant user interfaces.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving skills, design rationale, and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate design decisions effectively.

- Experience in agile/scrum environments and familiarity with developer handoff tools such as Zeplin or Figma Inspect.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working on healthcare, EHR, or enterprise-scale platforms.

- Familiarity with design tokens, UX metrics, and A/B testing frameworks.

- Exposure to front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/React basics) is a plus.
