Role Summary:

The Solution Architect Linux Platform & Virtualization will be responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering enterprise-scale Linux and virtualization solutions. The role requires strong expertise in VM Essentials/Morpheus, KVM virtualization, Linux platform engineering, storage, networking, clustering, and infrastructure modernization. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to assess requirements, define technical architectures, and lead successful project implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze customer requirements and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance solution architectures.

- Design, deploy, and support VM Essentials and Morpheus virtualization environments.

- Lead VMware modernization and migration initiatives to KVM-based platforms.

- Architect enterprise Linux platforms for mission-critical workloads.

- Provide technical leadership across virtualization, compute, storage, networking, and security domains.

- Conduct infrastructure assessments, solution workshops, and technical presentations.

- Develop migration strategies, implementation plans, and solution documentation.

- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide engineering guidance during project delivery.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

1. Linux Platform:

- Advanced Linux administration, engineering, and troubleshooting.

- Strong understanding of Linux kernel behavior, boot process, and systemd.

- Expertise in ext4, XFS, GFS2, LVM, VxFS, multipathing, and udev.

- Experience with Serviceguard and Pacemaker clustering technologies.

2. Virtualization:

- Strong hands-on experience with VM Essentials and Morpheus.

- Extensive experience with KVM/libvirt, including virsh, virt-install, and virt-manager.

- Deep understanding of CPU models, NUMA, SR-IOV, PCI Passthrough, and Nested Virtualization.

- Strong knowledge of VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMware-to-KVM migration strategies.

3. Storage:

- Expertise in SAN/NAS technologies including Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, and NFS.

- Experience integrating storage solutions with Linux and virtualization platforms.

4. Networking:

- Strong knowledge of Linux networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, Bridging, Bonding (LACP), MTU, and Jumbo Frames.

- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network paths in virtualized environments.

5. Security:

- Strong understanding of infrastructure security, Linux hardening, and enterprise security best practices.

Required Competencies:

- Proven experience delivering enterprise virtualization and infrastructure transformation projects.

- Strong solution architecture and consulting skills.

- Ability to translate customer requirements into technical solutions and proposals.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Relevant Linux, Virtualization, VMware, or Cloud certifications preferred.
