Description :

The Sr Backend Lead will be responsible for defining, architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power AstroYogis applications and services.

You will work closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-performance APIs and backend infrastructure.

In addition to hands-on development, you will play a central leadership role mentoring engineers, driving best practices, and ensuring technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Architecture & Development :

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services, APIs, and microservices.

- Drive architectural discussions and propose technical solutions that align with product strategy and long-term scalability.

- Ensure clean, well-structured, maintainable, and testable code across the backend stack.

Technical Leadership :

- Serve as a technical lead and mentor for backend engineers, providing guidance through code reviews, design discussions, and hands-on coaching.

- Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and documentation excellence.

- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the backend stack.

System Reliability & Performance :

- Champion initiatives for performance optimization, reliability, observability, and scalability of backend systems.

- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with product owners, frontend teams, QA, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Ensure seamless integration between backend services and frontend platforms, mobile apps, and third-party services.

Project Execution :

- Lead delivery of backend features and major platform enhancements from concept to production.

- Help estimate effort, prioritize tasks, and manage technical risk across multiple streams of work.

Qualifications & Skills :

Technical Expertise :

- 10 years of backend development experience, with deep hands-on expertise in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or similar modern backend technologies.

- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service orchestration.

- In-depth understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), caching, data modeling, and performance optimization.

- Proven experience designing and building systems that are scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing.
