Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Lead with 68 years of experience to drive the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge AI solutions in the agricultural technology domain. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with coding, passionate about building scalable AI systems, and capable of standardizing ML pipelines and practices across the organization. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our AI product roadmap, ensuring quality, reliability, and innovation in every model we build.

Key Responsibilities

AI Product Leadership :

- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models powering core AgroTech solutions such as crop analytics, farm intelligence, environmental risk scoring, and geospatial predictions.

Pipeline & Standards Development :

- Define and standardize the AI/ML lifecycle - from data ingestion, preprocessing, model training, validation, and deployment to monitoring and retraining.

Hands-on Development :

- Write clean, modular, and efficient code for data processing, model development, and productionization using modern frameworks and tools.

Data Strategy & Quality :

- Work closely with Data Engineering and GIS teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and readiness for machine learning applications.

Model Optimization & Evaluation :

- Establish model performance metrics, continuous evaluation pipelines, and processes for explainability, fairness, and reproducibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Partner with product managers, agronomists, and software engineers to translate domain problems into AI-driven solutions.

Technical Mentorship :

- Guide and mentor a small team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and high-quality delivery.

Research & Innovation :

- Stay updated with the latest trends in AI/ML, remote sensing, and AgriTech, evaluating new methods for potential integration into our ecosystem.

Required Qualifications

Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.

Experience : 67 years of proven experience in AI/ML model development and deployment, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior individual contributor role.

Technical Skills :

- Strong proficiency in Python and AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

- Experience with data engineering and MLOps tools (Airflow, MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar).

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Strong understanding of data pipelines, feature engineering, and model optimization.

- Familiarity with remote sensing / geospatial data (e.g., satellite imagery, raster/vector data) is a strong plus.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

- Proactive, ownership-driven, and capable of working in a startup environment.
