We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support Analyst / Data Analytics Engineer to support enterprise-scale Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Positive Train Control (PTC) platforms within the rail transportation domain. This role combines application support, production support, data analytics, automation, troubleshooting, and operational reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, data analytics, and reporting technologies, along with experience supporting mission-critical business applications.

The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, analyzing, and supporting Energy Management Systems such as LEADER and Trip Optimizer. The role requires working closely with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify system issues, perform root cause analysis, improve operational performance, and implement automation solutions. Candidates should be comfortable working with large datasets, production environments, operational KPIs, and enterprise reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support and maintain Energy Management Systems (EMS), including LEADER and Trip Optimizer platforms.

- Monitor production systems, application health, system performance, and operational metrics.

- Perform incident investigation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for application and operational issues.

- Analyze large volumes of structured and operational data using SQL and analytical tools.

- Develop reports, dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics to support business and operational decision-making.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and application performance.

- Identify opportunities for process automation and develop scripts to reduce manual effort and improve productivity.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights and analytical recommendations.

- Participate in production support activities, issue resolution, defect analysis, and system enhancement initiatives.

- Ensure high-quality deliverables with a focus on reliability, accuracy, scalability, and operational excellence.

Required Technical Skills:

- Strong SQL expertise including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, data extraction, reporting, and performance analysis.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookup Functions, Dashboards, Data Analysis, and Reporting.

- Experience in Data Analytics, Data Validation, Trend Analysis, and KPI Reporting.

- Strong understanding of Production Support processes, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Root Cause Analysis.

- Experience working with enterprise applications, operational systems, and support environments.

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

- Understanding of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Positive Train Control (PTC) concepts.

Preferred Technical Skills:

- Strong Python programming and scripting experience for automation, data processing, and analytics.

- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools.

- Exposure to LEADER, Trip Optimizer, or similar railway operational systems.

- Knowledge of Railway Technology, Transportation Analytics, Operational Analytics, or Industrial Data Systems.

- Experience with Automation Frameworks, Data Pipelines, Reporting Solutions, and Process Optimization initiatives.

- Familiarity with data visualization, business intelligence, and enterprise reporting platforms.

Desired Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SQL-based data analysis, Python scripting, dashboard development, production support, application monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and operational reporting. Candidates with prior exposure to railway systems, transportation technology, EMS platforms, PTC systems, LEADER, or Trip Optimizer will be highly preferred.
