API Tester - POSTMAN

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute test cases for API testing (REST/SOAP).

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of APIs.

- Work with developers to validate API specifications and identify edge cases and failure points.

- Automate API tests using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, Karate, or similar frameworks.

- Validate API responses, status codes, error messages, and payload structures.

- Design and execute automated test scripts using scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to test planning and sprint execution.

- Use tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar for defect tracking and test case management.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug issues and ensure high-quality releases.

- Perform API load and performance testing using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or Locust (preferred).

Required Skills :

- 49 years of experience in software QA/testing with a focus on API testing.

- Proficiency with API testing tools like Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar.

- Strong hands-on experience in test automation scripting using Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Solid understanding of REST and SOAP web services, HTTP methods, headers, and authentication mechanisms.

- Familiarity with JSON, XML, and data parsing/validation.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of test scripts (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with API mocking tools and contract testing (e.g., WireMock, Pact).

- Knowledge of database querying (SQL/NoSQL) for test data validation.

- Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

- Understanding of DevOps/Microservices architecture.
