Android Developer - Java/Kotlin

Position Title : Android Developer.

About The Role :

We are seeking a skilled Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for the Android platform.

The ideal candidate should have experience building high-quality, user-friendly applications using Kotlin/Java, and integrating APIs and third-party SDKs.

Knowledge of WebRTC and real-time communication tools is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin/Java.

- Integrate WebRTC, Matrix (Element X) SDKs and Jitsi SDKs into Android applications for real-time communication.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

- Integrate REST APIs, third-party SDKs, and libraries into Android applications.

- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

- Implement secure coding practices and data handling.

- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting production issues.

- Write unit tests and ensure test coverage of Android applications.

- Maintain technical documentation for Android development projects.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess :

- 3+ years of professional Android development experience.

- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.

- Hands-on experience with Android SDK and Android Studio.

- Strong hands-on experience with WebRTC for real-time communication.

- Experience integrating Jitsi SDK into Android applications.

- Experience integrating Matrix (Element X) SDK into Android applications.

- Experience with REST APIs and JSON data handling.

- Knowledge of Android architecture components (ViewModel, LiveData, Room, etc.

- Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub/GitLab).

- Understanding of Material Design principles and UI/UX best practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Have :

- Knowledge of WebRTC for real-time communication.

- Experience integrating Jitsi or similar video conferencing solutions.

- Familiarity with Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Push Notifications).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile development.

- Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform or cross-platform frameworks.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
