System Application Architect


Experience : 5 to 8 Years


Industry : Railways / Signalling / Transportation


Location : Bangalore


Travel : Europe & Asia (as required)


Role Summary :


Design and architect supervision and diagnostic system applications for railway signalling solutions. Support pre-tendering, system design, integration, and lifecycle support across global projects.


Key Responsibilities :


- Design and defend system application architectures during pre-tender and tender phases


- Perform gap analysis and define core system developments


- Propose customer-oriented system designs to engineering teams


- Support projects with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution


- Define and evolve the DMS (Diagnostic/Data Management System) roadmap


- Participate in Change Control Boards (CCB) to align project needs with standards


- Drive system improvements based on field and maintenance feedback


Technical Skills :


- System application architecture in safety-critical environments


- Strong experience in railway signalling systems (CBTC / ETCS / Interlocking)


- Supervision, monitoring, diagnostic, or control systems


- Distributed systems & client-server architecture


- Programming : C / C++ / Java / Python (any)


- Linux, real-time systems, high availability & redundancy


- Databases : SQL / NoSQL


- Communication protocols : TCP/IP, REST APIs, OPC, SNMP


- System documentation : SRS, architecture diagrams, ICDs


- Knowledge of V-cycle development


- Railway standards : EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129


- Cybersecurity awareness (IEC 62443 preferred)


Qualifications :


- Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent


- 5 to 8 years in system / diagnostic / signalling software development


- 5+ years in the signalling or railway domain


- Fluent in English; international project exposure preferred


- Experience in Indian railway projects is a plus
