Job Title : SQL Support Engineer

Your Day-to-Day :

- Provide ongoing SQL Server database and production support for mission-critical applications.

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database issues affecting application performance and availability.

- Monitor database health, performance, and reliability to ensure operational stability.

- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.

- Investigate data discrepancies, integrity issues, and database-related incidents.

- Support database backup, recovery, security, and access management activities.

- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurring issues.

- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and client teams to resolve production issues.

- Participate in incident management, change management, release support, and deployment activities.

- Maintain technical documentation for database configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and support processes.

- Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring timely issue resolution and service continuity.

Keys to Your Success :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in SQL development, SQL Server database support, or production support roles.

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database object management.

- Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.

- Knowledge of database administration, backup and recovery, security, and access management.

- Experience handling production incidents, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.

- Understanding of database integration with enterprise applications and back-end systems.

- Familiarity with Azure cloud environments and SQL Server deployment or hosting models.

- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, incident management, and change management processes.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams and client stakeholders.
