Lead, AI-Native Data Analytics
Location: Bengaluru | Experience: 4–8 Years
At Vedantu we're looking for a Lead, AI-Native Data Analytics to transform how data is accessed, analysed, and used across Vedantu. Today, most data requests require an analyst to understand the ask, write SQL/Python, validate outputs, and prepare the final analysis — a process that can take days. We want to make this dramatically faster through AI.
A core part of this role is building and operationalizing an AI-powered analytics agent that can retrieve data, perform analysis, generate visualizations, and surface insights using natural-language instructions — while analysts continue to provide context, judgment, validation, and business insight for complex or ambiguous questions.
The objective: Build a hybrid analytics model where AI handles more of the execution, and analysts focus on context, judgment, and decision-making impact.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Build the AI analytics agent — define the roadmap, enable it to generate SQL/Python-based analysis, create visualizations, and support follow-up questions, starting with high-value use cases.
- Build the business & data context layer — document metrics, KPIs, datasets, business terminology, and ensure the agent understands permissions and data sensitivity.
- Make AI-generated answers reliable — create evaluation datasets, validate outputs, prevent hallucinated metrics, and introduce human review where needed.
- Continue serving business data requests — clarify ambiguous asks, deliver validated insights, and maintain strong service levels.
- Enable analysts org-wide — train teams to use the agent effectively, create documentation and reusable workflows, and collect feedback to improve the system.
- Transform analyst productivity — make AI the default layer for SQL generation, debugging, and first-pass analysis, freeing analyst time for interpretation and influence.
- Lead business analytics & insight generation — move the team from reactive reporting to proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead and develop the analytics team — manage, mentor, and build an AI-first, high-ownership culture.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4–8 years in data analytics, BI, or related roles, with experience leading analysts/teams.
- Strong hands-on SQL and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of business metrics, data modelling, dashboards, and analytical workflows.
- Hands-on understanding of how LLMs, agents, tool-calling, retrieval, and context engineering apply to analytics.
- Ability to evaluate whether AI-generated analysis and insights are accurate and useful.
- Strong product thinking, ownership, and excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- An AI-native mindset — someone who actively uses modern AI tools, experiments rapidly, and is comfortable redesigning analytics processes around AI.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience building or operating natural-language analytics tools.
- Experience with semantic layers, metric stores, or knowledge graphs.
- Experience using LLMs to generate and execute SQL or Python.
- Experience with unstructured data such as documents, transcripts, or user feedback.
- Familiarity with BigQuery, dbt, Tableau, or modern analytics stacks.
- Understanding of data governance, role-based access, and auditability.
