Engineering Manager - Agentic AI / GenAI

Bangal - Remote (India)

About the Role :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of next-generation Agentic AI systems. You will manage a team of high-performing engineers while remaining hands-on in building scalable AI applications powered by LLMs and autonomous agents.

This role sits at the intersection of AI innovation, distributed systems, and product engineering.

Key Responsibilities :

Team Leadership :

- Lead, mentor, and scale a team of backend / AI engineers

- Drive technical excellence, code quality, and engineering best practices

- Own hiring, performance management, and team growth

Agentic AI Development :

- Architect and build AI agent-based systems (multi-agent, tool-using, autonomous workflows)

- Design pipelines involving planning, reasoning, and execution loops

- Implement agent orchestration frameworks

System Design & Architecture :

- Build scalable backend systems using Python / Node.js

- Design microservices & event-driven architectures

- Ensure reliability, observability, and performance

AI Stack Ownership :

- Work with LLMs (OpenAI, open-source models)

- Implement prompt engineering, tool calling, memory systems

- Integrate APIs, vector stores, and external tools

Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Partner with Product, Data, and Design teams

- Translate business problems into scalable AI solutions

- Drive roadmap and execution for AI-first features

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7-12 years of software engineering experience

- 2+ years in engineering leadership / team management

- Strong hands-on experience in Python (preferred) or Node.js

- Experience building AI/ML or Generative AI applications

Must-Have (Agentic AI) :

- Experience with AI Agents / Agentic AI systems

- Familiarity with frameworks like :

1. LangChain

2. CrewAI

3. LlamaIndex

- Understanding of :

1. Task decomposition

2. Planning & reasoning workflows

3. Tool usage (APIs, DBs, automation)

Good to Have :

- Experience with multi-agent systems

- Knowledge of distributed systems / microservices

- Exposure to vector databases (even if not RAG-heavy)

- Cloud platforms : AWS / GCP / Azure

Tech Stack (Indicative) :

- Languages : Python, Node.js

- AI : LLMs, Agent frameworks, Prompt Engineering

- Backend : FastAPI, Flask, Express.js

- Infra : Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD

- Databases : SQL / NoSQL
