Aelum Consulting - Technical Manager - Software Development

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Manager to lead and oversee our development teams at Aelum. This role combines hands-on technical involvement with team leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience across multiple platforms, and a proven ability to review developers work while ensuring high-quality project delivery. This position is ideal for professionals who want to stay technically engaged while managing teams and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and review the work of development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.

- Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and plan projects effectively.

- Review project deliverables for quality, performance, security, and scalability.

- Oversee project timelines and ensure milestones are met while maintaining high delivery standards.

- Drive and enforce best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, version control, and release management.

- Participate in technical architecture discussions and contribute to design decisions.

- Facilitate technical problem-solving and decision-making discussions within the team.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies, platforms, and industry trends to guide technical direction.

- Manage resource allocation, team capacity planning, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.

- Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 4-7 years of overall experience in software development, with at least 1-2 years in a technical leadership or managerial role.

- Strong hands-on experience in one or more technology stacks (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, .NET, React, Angular, etc.).

- Solid understanding of system design, architecture, and scalable application development.

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is preferred.

- Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools.

- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps practices.

- Ability to review code, enforce best practices, and ensure high-quality standards.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Experience in managing distributed or cross-functional teams.

- Exposure to microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Prior experience in performance optimization and security best practices.
