.Net Developer - Azure Platform

Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled VB.NET Developer to join our technology team for a major cloud transformation initiative.

This role involves supporting the migration of over 200 legacy VB.NET applications to Microsoft Azure, ensuring seamless modernization, performance improvements, and long-term scalability.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in VB.NET, .NET technologies, Azure services, and multi-database environments, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, enterprise-level setup.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Application Migration & Development :

- Lead the migration of legacy VB.NET applications to the Azure Cloud platform.

- Analyze, refactor, and modernize existing application code to align with cloud architecture best practices.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application dependencies, business logic, and migration feasibility.

- Rewrite or optimize modules using C#, VB.NET, and .NET Framework when required.

- Ensure smooth integration with third-party tools, internal systems, and APIs.

2. Cloud Deployment & Infrastructure :

- Handle environment setup, infrastructure mapping, resource grouping, and cloud configurations for application migration.

- Work closely with the cloud engineering team to ensure performance efficiency and security compliance.

3. Application Hosting & Version Control :

- Deploy applications on IIS (Internet Information Services) with proper environment configurations.

- Implement and maintain version control using Git, ensuring branch management, code reviews, and release cycles.

- Troubleshoot environment issues, deployment errors, and performance bottlenecks.

4. Database & Reporting :

- Work with multiple data platforms including Oracle SQL, MS SQL Server, and MS Access for data migration, queries, optimization, and integration.

- Support existing reporting frameworks; experience with Crystal Reports is a plus.

- Collaborate with database administrators for schema mapping, stored procedures, and data validation.

5. Documentation & Quality Assurance :

- Create technical documentation including migration plans, release notes, and architecture diagrams.

- Conduct unit testing and support integration & UAT testing during various migration phases.

- Ensure all migrated applications meet performance, security, and usability standards.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4 to 8 years of experience in VB.NET and .NET technologies.

- Strong programming skills in VB.NET, C#, .NET Framework, and VB-based UI components.

- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services and cloud-based deployment.

- Solid understanding of IIS hosting, release processes, and DevOps concepts.

- Proficiency in writing complex queries and working with Oracle SQL / MS SQL Server / MS Access.

- Experience in Git for version management and collaboration.

- Knowledge of Crystal Reports is preferred but not mandatory.

- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, large-scale migration environment.
